I recently enjoyed speaking with Tricia Rose Stone, a friend, and former client, on her blog, Rose Colored Glasses. She reached out to me because, in her words, "I recently felt the need to look at my home and realized that the dull and even dark energy of this 'long winter' needed to go!"

Who doesn't feel that way, especially this time of year? I know I do!

Tricia and I spoke about "some Feng Shui tips that might help you clear out the old stagnant energy swiftly and welcome in new abundant, joyful energy right now" by using "the ancient art of Feng Shui and tips on how we can embrace new energy this spring in the Feng Shui way." I am delighted to share excerpts and a few key tips below from our chat and invite you to check out our full conversation for all the tips to beautifully refresh your home as well. The special significance of springtime:

  • In Feng Shui, springtime represents family, growth, and new beginnings.

  • The element of this season is wood. Right now, it's all about wood, trees, growth, and green.

  • It is true this year more than ever because of the pandemic. We've been in our homes, hunkered down. We can add elements and do our part in the shift of the energy that needs to happen.

The entrance - an important area of focus:

  • This is how energy enters our home.

  • The entrance must be a clear and inviting space.

  • We want abundant energy flowing into our space.

The kitchen - another critical area of focus:

  • The kitchen represents health and abundance.

  • Burners are the energy generator in your home. They represent wealth and prosperity.

  • Bring in live plants and fresh flowers, creating an indoor-outdoor feeling into your home.

Feng Shui tips for conscious cleaning:

  • Removal of clutter - a Feng Shui must.

  • Clean your windows.

  • Create a multi-sensory experience to use all your senses.
