I am popping in your mailbox today for Day 3 of 9 Days of Easy Feng Shui Gift ideas that I will be sharing with you over the next two weeks. (If you missed the gift ideas for Day 1 or 2, check them out here). In Feng Shui, we use a compass called the Bagua (bah-gwah), divided into 9 areas of life that correspond to specific areas in your home or space. Typically, we use it to analyze how the areas of your space are impacting the corresponding areas of your life. I use the Bagua in my day-to-day life in many different ways, including selecting gifts.
To use the Bagua and apply it to your space, the entrance is always along the side of the Knowledge/Career/Travel areas, and you are facing the side with Wealth/Fame/Relationships areas.
Today, we are going to look at the area we call Health, which is about Health & Well-being in all areas of your life. On the Bagua, Health is in the center, the colors are yellow and orange, and the element is earth. My favorite gifts for Health are:
Chocolates - ok, I know you are thinking, what? In my world, chocolate is its own food group. But it's not just any chocolate but tasty and healthy chocolate. And even better if you make it. My friend and client, Chay Wike, creator of The Kitchen Commune, has the most amazing, delicious allergen-free recipes. One of them is Raw Vegan Chocolate Truffles, which are so good! For gifts, I like to package them in a beautiful container or use an eco-candy box.
Essential Oils - there are many brands to choose from -- let your nose be your guide! I use DoTerra essential oils for my health as well as , and there are many scents that I love. But my two go-to scents are:
Wild Orange - I use it in the diffuser and as a spray to freshen rooms after cleaning. Not only does it smell good, but it is a great air purifier and very energizing - great for uplifting your energy. Also, in Feng Shui, orange is the color of health, and oranges are great for colds and coughs.
Lavender - I also use this in a diffuser and put it on my temples or forehead to help with calming or sleep, as well as in a bath. Lavender is great for mediation and yoga as well.
Tea - What's not to love about tea? Long thought to be a key to health, happiness, and wisdom, different teas have many health benefits, including help with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and lowering cholesterol. And then sometimes, you just need a good cup of tea.
The most important thing we recommend is when selecting, packaging, and sending or giving your gift, do it with Intention. In Feng Shui, we say, Intention is everything. It is the thing that makes it special and magical. Everyday Feng Shui. It's all right here! As always, I would love to hear from you. What's your favorite chocolate, essential or health gift? With love and blessings, Kate
